GEN TUMENTA TO BE LAID TO REST JANUARY 4

The Commander of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic, MINUSCA  would be laid to rest at his Babanki village in the NW region of Cameroon on January 4 2015, except for last minute changes.

Family sources said the burial of General Martin Chomu Tumenta would precede honours to the fallen Cameroonian soldier at the Yaounde Military headquarters.

UN HONOURS TUMENTA IN BANGUI

Earlier on December 7 2015 in Bangui MNUSCA officials, accredited diplomatic representations converged to pay homage to the MINUSCA force commander.

Representative of UN Secretary General for MINUSCA, Parfait Onanga-Onyanga described General Tumenta as an exceptional and accomplished soldier others of the rank and file should emulate.

Colonel Tamunjoh Sammy Nkwenti, Commander of the Cameroon contingent of MINUSCA, remembered his services to humanity, his humility and his desire to teach and train others.
CAR Republic government through Minister Aristide Sokambi said when UN soldiers fall the transitional authorities are concerned because they defend CAR’s integrity.

The 61 year old general General died on November 2015.
