Except for last minute changes, returning to
reason or by miracle, the Cameroon government officials who are on a tour in some
Middle East countries might never visit Kuwait as initially planned. The
Delegation at the time of filing in this report, is reportedly in Istambul,Turkey.
The Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations,MINREX, in charge of the Islamic
Affairs, Adoum Gargoum was due to visit Lebanon then Kuwait on Thursday
February 25 (yesterday) Quarta on February 29 and then United Arab Emirates,UAE
on Wednesday march 2nd 2016.
MINISTER ADOUM GARGOUM: |
After Lebanon on February 22 we are made to
understand that the delegation which has so far not visited Kuwait is reportedly
en en-route for Quarta.
An official in the Ministerial Department who is
known to be the main liaison between
MINREX and some of the suffering Cameroonian girls in the Middle East confirmed
that the “ Kuwait lap of the Ministerial trip has been postponed indefinitely by Kuwaiti Government.
They did
not give any clear reason. They simply said they would inform us,” he said. It is still
unclear how a government would turn down an official delegation on the day a
visit is to start.
ANGER AT KUWAIT GOVERNMENT SHELTER
The anger and frustration at the Kuwaiti
Government Shelter where more than 57 Cameroonian girls have been awaiting voluntary repatriation is
quite deep, since today Friday February 26, when news broke that the much
announced Cameroonian delegation would not be visiting Kuwait.
“Before giving (the Cameroon government) this
program did the Kuwait government never knew Friday (today February 26) and Saturday will be a public holiday? and their independence celebrations?,"questioned one of the frustrated ladies.
KUWAIT GOVT SHELTER |
“ Our frustration is that some of us abandoned
our houses and rushed to the shelter, thinking that we would be issued just ‘laisser
passers’ that would enable us pay our flights back home. Where do we go to now
since our bosses know we have escaped. We have been put into a more complex
situation” said another.
The argument we are receiving from MINREX
officials is that since the Kuwait trip has been postponed (by Kuwaiti
authorities) and other appointments have been booked for Quarta and the UAE,
there is no way the delegation is to visit Kuwait.
The question is Did the Cameroon government not know that Fridays and Saturdays are not working days in Kuwait?
ReplyDeleteWere they not informed that Kuwait national day was on Thursday?
Or do we have to tell the Cameroon government the number of colors the Kuwait flag has???Tsuiiips
