CRP ACCUSES BIYA’S GOV’T OF VIOLATING RIGHTS OF WUM PEOPLE

The Cameroon Reformation Party is calling local and international Rights groups to investigate what it describes as the violation of the rights of the people of Wum in the North West Region of Cameroon.

In a statement issued February 20 2016, the CRP, in reaction to the raid on the population by soldiers, condemned the torturing of residents and confiscation of their property. The CRP wants investigations into the death of the commercial motorcyclist which seem to have sparked off violence.

Here is the CRP's STATEMENT ON WUM INCIDENT

WE ACCUSE BIYA’S DESPOTIC GOV’T OF VIOLATING RIGHTS OF WUM PEOPLE

The Cameroon Reformation Party, CRP is totally outraged, appalled, and anguished by the barbaric attitude of the CPDM / PAUL BIYA Regime, towards inhabitants of Wum in North West Region of Cameroon. We denounce in strongest terms the savagery behaviour of Mr Biya’s Battalion Intervention Rapid (BIR) elements.
RAIDED WUM INHABITANTS

We have characterized Wum as No 1, 18 /19 January 2016 crime scene “execution style” and condemn the transformation

of Wum into a torture centre as innocent inhabitants continue to be humiliated in public to dying point.
We consider what soldiers are doing to Wum people as crimes against humanity and call on international human rights groups

to look in to such barbaric behaviour by a regime that calls itself Les Grandes ambitions and Democratic.

The CRP is questioning why mobile phones, TV, DVD Players, Radios and all electronics without receipts were carried away by these so called military if they were simply out to check those responsible for violence? Did government need some 700 soldiers to be transported in armoured cars to Wum?

Again where are the findings and sanctions to the soldier who murdered a  poor commercial motorcyclist and provoked violence?

LANG : PEOPLE DESERVE HUMANE TREATMENT
We join the Wum people in expressing our sorrow to the families and friends of the victims and express our disappointment at such an abhorrent ferocity committed on your land and on your people by the Biya’s elements of security.

The CRP describes what is happening in Wum as an act of aggression and looting of civilian property by Government gunmen.

We are torn by this great tragedy and call on the other opposition parties and human right groups both national and worldwide to protest and express bitterness at the CPDM regime which is  supposed to be protect the people.

The CRP is watching, counting and registering all crimes committed against the Cameroonian people by a despotic regime which is losing its focus.
