FREE JOURNALIST FRANKLIN SONE BAYERN FROM CAMEROON PRISONS

He is being detained at the Limbe Central Police Station, Cameroon since March 9 2016.
Bayern  who is editor of several news organisations in Cameroon was sued by Paul Nkemanyang, Journalist and Publisher of Star Newspaper with headquarters in Limbe.

BAYERN , NDI : PRISONERS WITHOUT CRIMES
"I met wild detainees who, but for my calm, would have molested me to pay "new man tax" (7,500Frs.).. I’m lying on bare floor like them. Nkemanyang Paul has been so desperate to see me locked up.

Maybe he has thus realized his lifelong dream to detain Bayern," Franklin Bayern is quote as having said March 9 shortly after his detention.


Paul Nkemanyang dragged Franklin Bayern and another Yaounde based , Eugene Ndi , for reporting that donations collected from some enterprises and personalities to assist organizers of the the 2015 edition of World Press Freedom Day, were not well accounted for.

The journalists had simply demanded explanations from Paul Nkemanyang, President of Commonwealth Journalists Association,CJA to explain how the funds and resources were used.

The matter was thrown out of court in December 2015 but brought back to the Limbe police station by Paul Nkemanyang. Franklin Sone Bayern refused to grant himself 

bail of 50, 000 Frs and was taken to police cells. He risks being remanded at the Buea central prison from where he would appear in court on March 30.
