ALERT : KAH WALLA , MRC MILITANTS ARRESTED IN YAOUNDE...

The President of the Cameroon's People's Party, CPP has been arrested by security forces in Yaounde.

TROOP DEPLOYMENT

Kah Walla and militants of the Movement for Cameroon's Renaissance, MRC, were picked up April 8, 2016 as the staged a protest demonstration to halt rumoured clandestine plans for  the modification of the constitution and to demand the provision of water and electricity.

SHORTLY BEFORE THE ARREST

A statement from CPP Secretariat said she was arrested at the GMI office in Tshinga where she went to inquire about the arrest earlier of scores of demonstrators.

The reasons for her arrest  are not known. At the time of filing in this report, Kah Walla and those arrested have been transferred to the judicial police station where sources say they have been charged with inciting 'insurrection and  rebellion'

It is reported that Yaounde authorities tried to halt todays demonstrations in vain.

YDE JUDICIAL POLICE 

CPP STATEMENT:

La présidente du CPP, Mme Kah Walla et d'autres militants du CPP et du MRC viennent d'être arrêtés ce jour à Yaoundé sans aucun motif.

Il est près de 9h ce matin du Vendredi 8 Avril 2016, jour prévue pour la grande manifestation en NOIR pour dire OUI à l'Eau et à l'Electricité et NON à une modification clandestine de la constitution,


 lorsque certains militants de ce parti sont interpellés par les éléments du Groupement Mobile d'Intervention (GMI) de la police. La présidente est informée et prend aussitôt la route du poste de police (GMI de TSNIGA). C'est sur les lieux qu'elle sera également arrêtée sans notification précise du motif d'arrestation.

Le CPP condamne cet acte illégal et liberticide de la police et appelle à la libération de toutes les personnes lâchement arrêté ce matin par une police qui piétine avec arrogance les droits et libertés fondamentales des populations.

Le CPP invite également les médias et toutes les organisations ainsi que tous les défenseurs des droits humains à se mobiliser massivement et immédiatement pour exiger leur libération.
