Security forces in Douala, Cameroon prevented hundreds of
mourners from viewing the mortal remains of Monique Koumateke, when it was
removed from the Laquantinie hospital morgue, April 29 without any explanations.
MOURNERS FRUSTRATED |
The mourners were all forced to stay in front of the gate
leading to the mortuary but for few who were allowed in.

“We can’t understand
how the government created the situation and prevents Cameroonians from paying
their last respect and homage to Koumate” fumed Edith Kah Walla of the Cameroon’s
People Party,CCP.”

The security forces
had allowed only her and the President of MANIDEM, Ndema Sam,e to move into the
morgue which she described as almost empty.
MOURNERS BLOCKED AT GATE |
After the corpse removal, the family members also expressed
frustration. Monique Koumateke’s supposed husband, Mbah Hitler told reporters
he could not understand how close family members could only follow the convoy
about 30 minutes after.
FRUSTRATED MOURNERS |
The policemen of the Groupement Mobile D’Intervention, GMI, Equipe
Special D’Intervention Rapid, ESIR and gendarme officers mounted guard on all
corners of the hospital as the convoy carrying the casket of Monique Koumateke
drove off.

The corpse was guarded according to reports as if a state
burial.
MOURNERS WATCH IN ANGUISH |
Monique Koumateke who died on March 22 is finally laid to
rest in her native Yabassi in the Nkam Division,Littoral Region.
