They were taken to the police GMI headquarters and latter to the Territorial Surveillance ST, office (another police unit) where they are being detained.

Militants of the CPP who were under  a Prefetorial ban from taking part in the 20th May March past, were holding a meeting to discuss the ‘inclusion for a leading Cameroon’ when security forces swooped on them.

All their phones and other discussion material were seized by the policemen who did not give any reasons for the arrest.

A statement from the CPP secretariat dated May 20 2016 said, Kah Walla was detained when she visited the GMI office to demand explanations why her militants and those of the civil society organization, Standup4Cameroon were arrested.

A security source in Yaounde hinted that their arrest follows fears from authorities that they could defy the prefetorial order and join the 20 May manifestations.

The source  was silent when asked whether their arrest was linked to the ‘Black Friday Movement’.

Kah Walla and her militants who are denouncing the violation of the rights of Cameroonians to public gathering were victims of similar arrests on March 29 and April 8 2016.
