The
author of the piece Cameroonian born, Josiane Gagoum Tchoumeni, said she was
inspired to write the book when she observed that people; men and women, living
usually in poverty, were yet to fully exploit their God given talents. In fact
her argument is that some have not even identified the said given talents.
“During
my encounter with some women through a practical skills training, coaching and
motivational speaking, I realized the amount of potentials each one of them has,
but yet living below the poverty line, physically , financially and
spiritually.
Beyond women there are lots of people who are living below their
potentials and most of them do not even know it. This could be as a result of
the environment they find themselves, the baggage from their pasts, identity
crisis, and most of all, ignorance of what the future holds for them,” she stated.

It was imperative
for her to propose solutions on how to empower such people. She recommends that
people should make a mind shift, think about the legacy they want to leave for posterity and engage in life changing
topics and argues that our destiny is in our own hands.
“The only person who can stop you from becoming who you are meant to be
or who you desire to become is you, not your background, not your education,
not your predicaments, not even your
past can stop you, but YOU,” she argues.
The ten chapter motivational
and empowerment book challenges everyone to stir up his/her God-given
abilities, gifts, skills and talents, so as to live a purpose-driven life as
ordained by God.
