BREAKING : FOUR KILLED AFTER DOUALA BUILDING UNDER CONSTRICTION CRUMBLES

At least four people are reported to have been killed after a story building under construction around College Bernedicte, in the Ndokotti neighbouhood, in Cameroon’s economic capital Douala, collapsed in the early hours of June 19 2016. 


Witnesses said the victims were occupants who visited one of the basements of the structure

transformed into a beer parlor. 

It is suspected that the barman, a woman who sells food and her children are among the victims.

The origins of the collapse of the building have not so far been established. 

The Divisional Officer  for Douala III municipality and firefighters are reported to be searching for survivors in the rubble. 

The owner of the said structure is said to have been arrested amid fears that the casualties and death toll may rise.
