SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS MOBILISE FOR BUEA COURT TODAY JULY 26

There are strong indications that Southern Cameroons activists and civil society actors are due to storm the Buea Court of First Instance Today July 26 2016. Concordant reports say the intention is to witness the trial of some 15 Southern Cameroons activists arrested in Molyko Buea, South West Region of Cameroon and clamour for their release.

In a statement, a veteran politician and one of the respectable voices in the quest for Southern Cameroons independence, Mola Njoh Litumbe announced his presence in court, amid attempts to free the detained activists in vain. 

“I had earlier sent a note to the PM’s office asking for audience and yet no response. I will be in court and I am sure all our people in the diaspora are mobilized too,” said Mola Njoh Litumbe July 23.

There are other reports announcing the presence of civil society actors in court today.

Though the exact charge against the activists is not known, their lawyer, Barrister Blaise Berinyuy had insinuated that his clients could be charged for what some of the activists described as “illegal gathering.” Speculations are also rife that the activists who were arrested in a restaurant in Molyko, and remanded at Buea Prison, could be charged with secession.

The trial at the Buea court of first instance concerns 15 activists including, Shey Alfred Sembe,Fokum Andrew ,Moto James,Njousi Abang David ,Chief Ekane Ivoson Maths,Bissong Mathias Arrey, Tabot James Arrey,Tebot Titanji Christian ,Mokube Alus Ngoe (blind),Nke Valentine,Tonjoh Peter Fehbi,Asoh Cletus ,Mbua Richard,Check Nyah.

Reliable sources within the Southern Cameroons leadership said after the trial in Buea, Southern Cameroonians are preparing other diplomatic moves at the Political Affairs Division of the United Nations.
