EQUINOX TV's ERIC KOUAMO’s BEPANDA , DOUALA HOME BURGLED

The residence of the Editor-in-Chief of Equinox Radio/TV, situated in the Bepanda ‘Deux Cocotiers’ neighbourhood was last night, January 20 2016, burgled by men of the underworld.

Witnesses said Eric Kouamo is yet to come to terms with what actually transpired amid suspicions.

“Our Editor in Chief returned home and went to bed as usual after work. He only got up at about 4:00 am (Cameroon Time) this morning January 21, to prepare for work when he realized that his house had been burgled while he and his family were fast asleep.

It remains unclear how the thieves were able to switch of the security light, open his door, collected items- even his phone which was on charge on his ‘head bed’ without the family  noticing or hearing  any sound.

He has been unable to report for work following the trauma,” a source working with the Douala based media house said.

The hoodlums are reported to have made away with the presenter of the famous Regard Social TV Programme’s laptop, a digital Camera, three cellphones, his wife’s handbag and the couple’s dresses and those of the kids.

An undisclosed amount of money and some other valuables were also stolen by the thieves who are still at large. Eric Kouamo is reported to have also just received his salary.

It is also said that security forces have opened up investigations although no suspects have been arrested.

Witnesses added that it is fortunate that no one was hurt although Eric Kouamo and family remain very worried at the more than once attack and robbery incident they have been victim to.

Heavy suspicion that the thieves must have used ‘supernatural powers’ are also circulating in the Bepanda neighbourhood amid complains of the upsurge of crime in Cameroon’s economic capital.
