At least 32 people
have been killed and 80 others wounded,some seriously, after four bomb blasts, in
Bodo, a locality in the Logon and Chari Division of the Far North Region of
Cameroon on January 25 2016.
There are fears that
the death toll may witness an increase. Survivors are receiving treatment at
the Kousseri hospital according to concordant government sources.

The Governor of the
far North Region is quoted as saying two of the attackers targeted the Bodo Market,
while two others detonated explosives in the town.
“We are informed the
four bombers came from Nigeria. We are investigating where they spent the night
before attacking the market,” Governor Midjiyiwa Bakari said.
Other reports are
suggesting that the attackers hid their explosives in bags of goods which were smuggled
into the market.

Though no group has
claimed responsibility for the January 25 2016 quadruple attacks, accusing
fingers are pointing at Boko Haram insurgents who have multiplied attacks on
Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria; all countries fighting against the militant
group.
It is estimated that
some 20,000 people have been killed and 2.3 million others displaced since the start of
the six year insurgency.
