LAQANTINIE SCANDAL: PROTESTS BEGINS…'SHE NEVER DIED IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL'- MONIQUE'S HUSBAND..., LAWYERS DEFEND NIECE

The husband of Monique Koumate who died under unclear circumstances, on March 12 2016, has said his wife never gave up the ghost at Tergal hospital as some medics at the Laquantinie hospital are insinuating.

He told the press, March 13 that they were simply referred from Tergal to the Laquantinie hospital where doctors declared his wife dead.
“We were at the entrance to the maternity. The hospital staff declared they could do nothing to save the babies and that they had another case.

They then shut the door. It is when the corpse was being conveyed to the Morgue that Monique’s sister decided to try and save the babies,”he said.





A similar narration of events had been given by Monique’s in law, identified as Salomon Makita, shortly after gendarmes intervened to halt the unethical surgical operation. Monique is said to be already having three children before the twin.

Meanwhile Monique’s niece, arrested after interrogation and detained at the Akwa South Gendarmerie 

Brigade has been transferred to the Gendarmerie headquarters in Bonanjo, March 13.

PROTEST IN FRONT LAQUANTINIE 
A battery of lawyers are said to have teamed up to defend the lady ‘surgeon’, who undertook and unbelievable operation.


A Senior official of Laquantinie we spoke to declined making any statement. " What do you want me to say. We are confused'" he said before hanging up.



Different groups of Cameroonians have been calling for rallies around the embattled Laquantine hospital to demand justice for Monique. The presence of security forces is also being reported as the protests begins...
