FIRE RAZES HUTS , MUTINATIONAL JOINT TASK FORCE ARMORY IN FAR NORTH CAMEROON

After the quadruple bomb blasts that killed 32 and injured some 80 others Monday, hundreds of Cameroonians have been rendered homeless, in Madina, few kilometers from Bodo, a locality in the Logon and Chari, Far North Region of Cameroon.

In another incident, fire is reported to have razed the an armory and more than two buildings belonging to the Regional Multinational Joint Task Force (base to soldiers from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria and Niger)  located in Mora still in the Far North.

Both incidents occurred on the night of January 26- 27 2016.


The origins of the flames have not been fully established though accusing fingers

are pointing at the Islamist s Boko Haram insurgents. “We cannot explain where there fire originated from. 


Of course we want to believe that these are attacks perpetrated by militants (Boko Haram) who are trying to destabilize our country and the region. We are trying to establish what actually happened.


The fire was put out after damage has been done,” explained a security source in Mora.
In the Madina fire incident close to 100 huts are reported to have been burnt down. The inhabitants who were in their sleep were forced to flee their huts when the fire incident started. 

ON ALERT

Reports say the victims are gradually returning to live with neighbours whose huts were not affected. 


No life was lost although some locals sustained slight injuries as they escaped for their lives. 


Reports say the administrative officials are due to meet with the displaced inhabitants.
