SPORTS : HOW AN INCOMPLETE LIMBE OMNISPORT STADIUM WAS INAUGURATED

Amid a ceremony like others, characteristic of ‘inaugurations’ in Cameroon, so was the one on January 26 2016 at the, Ngeme, Limbe 20 000 capacity Omnisport Stadium.

There are fears however that the stadium though looking ‘beautiful’ from the inside, if much work is not done it would never be  worthy of the name.

“The facility as at now has no permanent water supply and its electricity solely depends on a standby generator.

The roads leading to and from the stadium are far from being completed.

A deadline of March 10 has been given by government officials for the work to be completed.

WOULD WORK BE COMPLETED?
Would that dateline be met or respected? Would the work not be abandoned like other projects in Cameroon?” questioned a South West Elite who prefers not to be named.

The fear of this South West Elite is like that of many who doubt if the stadium would be ready to host Cameroon's 2017 AFCON qualifier against South Africa on March 26 2016.

It was also observed that the stadium does not have water supply, the parking lot needs to be improved upon and a fence erected.

SW CHIEFS : WE WERE IGNORED
With mixed feelings over the choice of the name by many Cameroonians West of the Mungo, FECAFOOT's President Tombi a Roko told journalists at a press briefing in Limbe to decide whether the event was a naming or inaugural ceremony.

After a visit by a delegation of CAF officials on January 26 led by Togolese born Espoire Assogbavi Komlan at the Limbe Stadium, Tombi a Roko was confident that it would meet the required standard on time.

TOMBI , MBELLA MOKI OF FECAFOOOT : ARE WE SERIOUS?

The debate about the naming is still rage on social media as compatriots questioned why there was a Reunification stadium in Douala, Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, the

Rumdiajia stadium in Gaoura and not for example, a ‘Nyango na Muna,‘ a ‘Mount Fako,’ an ‘Epassa Moto,’ a ‘Njalla Quan’ or an ‘N.N. Mbile’ stadium in Limbe?
