SPORTS: PREPARATIONS FOR 2016 CAMEROON FESTIVAL TOURNAMENT, CAMFEST, SA GATHER STEAM

Preparations for the 2016 edition of the Cameroon Festival Tournament,CAMFEST SA, has reached fever pitch with the organizers and participants holding different preparatory meetings to ensure a hitch free social cohesion and sporting jamboree.

CAMFEST 2016: JOIN THE FIESTA
The event has been billed for March 6 to 24 April 2016 in Johannesburg South Africa. This year’s event is under the theme 'Uniting Cameroonian Diaspora with Other Africans for Sustainable Social Cohesion, Peace Building and Development.'

The Co-founder and Chairman of Camfest, SA, W.Taka, a.k.a Sir Abotoky said this year’s event stretches more than ever before to French speaking communities in SA.

“All participants and organizers are exited and ready to deliver a 2016 edition of CAMFEST, that exceeds all expectations.

We have been talking to the Cameroonian and the French speaking African communities in SA, including  the African Diaspora Forum, ADF,a federation of migrant associations in SA. We wish they work together with us for a memorable CAMFEST 2016. Everyone is ready and want to be part of the success story this year,” he said.He announced  innovations for Camfest 2016.


REFEREES,S.W. FC : FINALISTS
 “We have invited the entire African Diaspora in South Africa to participate in this year’s event, especially migrants from French speaking African countries. 

The venue will be changed to suit the event and we look forward having more teams than last year. We will be expecting the Cameroon High Commissioner,SA and Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh of The Fomunyoh Foundation,TFF and other diplomatic representations to take part in the opening ceremony. 

We are into partnership with all stakeholders \participants so we can agree on discipline and social cohesion principles. We will all be guided by the laws of the host country, South Africa,” he added. Co-Founder and Event Director who doubles as a social entrepreneur, McKevin Ayaba said there would be a display of African cuisine and culture.

In 2015 there were eight football teams playing in two groups. There was a marathon as well. "More than  40 South Africans and other Africans participated. We look forward to building a peaceful way of living as migrants or locals through sports," said Sir Abotoky.

There teams were Zoo Lake FC, Hillbrow Veteran FC,(the finalist) South West FC (semi finalist), Unis-Sport de Haut –Nkam FC, Zoo lake Veteran FC, Kensington FC, Zoo Lake Junior FC and Bramley FC. Bawock FC, Braamfontien FC, Mankon FC, Nwa FC and Nkureh FC are expected this 2016.
